Taawon (Welfare Association) is a non-profit, civic organization launched in Geneva in the year 1983, upon the initiative of a group of Palestinian business leaders and intellectuals. Taawon has become one of the largest organizations operating in Palestine and the diaspora camps in Lebanon, whereby it touches the lives of more than one million Palestinians on an annual basis, with half of these beneficiaries being women.

Launch of the 'Juthoorna' Campaign to Raise Awareness and Protect Palestinian Heritage
Taawon launches the 'Our Roots' (Jothorona) campaign to raise awareness about the importance of preserving historical landmarks through cultural activities at over 15 heritage sites. This initiative is implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, other relevant ministries, local civil society organizations, local authorities, and the private sector, with support from UNDP/PAPP through the TARABOT Palestine Programme.

First Batch of Operational Support Arrives at Gaza Municipality to Sustain Water and Sanitation Services
Supporting the steadfastness of our people in Gaza, the first batch of operational aid has been delivered to Gaza Municipality. This delivery includes spare parts for engineering machinery, generators for powering water wells and sewage pumping stations, and essential components for water networks, which technical teams will use to repair infrastructure damaged by attacks on Gaza City's water and sewage systems. This initiative is being carried out in partnership with the Palestinian Environmental Friends (PEF).

Under the management of Taawon – Jerusalem Old Cities Revitalization Program, and supervised by the Nablus Municipality, the Dr. Azzam Sadiq Kanaan School has officially opened in the Old City of Nablus, offering new opportunities for girls' education.
Noor Program Launches Initial Support Efforts for Over 16,000 Orphans in Gaza with Food and Health Aid Distribution
Noor Program "Gaza’s Orphan Care Program" has officially begun its support, providing essential humanitarian aid including food parcels, clothing for children from newborns to 17 years old, nutritional supplements, milk, and health and hygiene supplies for orphaned infants. This initiative is implemented by Save the Children – Palestine, Fares Al Arab for Development and Charity Works, and Gaza Culture and Development Group.
Over 16,000 orphans who lost their parents during the recent war on Gaza will benefit from these efforts.

Taawon’s Participation in the Third Jerusalem Youth Forum
Taawon took part in the Third Jerusalem Youth Forum, organized by the Burj Al-Luqluq Social Center Society and funded by Taawon and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). This year's forum focused on "Volunteering and Youth Initiatives in Jerusalem," exploring the main challenges faced by youth in volunteer work across the city.
