Since 1983, Taawon (Welfare Association), has served as an independent Palestinian non-profit organization. Over the course of 40 years, Taawon became a lighthouse for Palestine’s civic society. We work with a clear purpose: to protect Palestinian life and dignity, promote Palestinian capability, and preserve Palestinian identity and heritage.
Founded in Geneva, Taawon’s operation spreads across Palestine, Lebanon, with registered allies as a UK based charity and a 501C3 in the US. Taawon works as one institution across the full continuum of Palestinian life.
Our mythology of our intervention is what differentiates us; it is born out of a deep knowledge of our local needs, a continuous relationship with hundreds of local organizations; a sustained commitment to local capacity building; and, with an extensive network of global allies, setting up the foundations of financial and operational models that are crucial to the foundations of a Palestinian society.
