Signing of a MoU between Caritas Jordan and Taawon to Support the Gaza Mobile Health Initiative

Amman, Jordan – In a significant step towards bolstering healthcare services for those affected by the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, Dr. Tareq Mitri, Director General of Taawon, and Mr. Wael Suleiman, Director General of Caritas Jordan, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today. This agreement aims to support the Mobile Clinics Initiative in the Gaza Strip.
This initiative seeks to provide mobile medical services to those impacted by the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. This will be achieved by deploying mobile medical units equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including mobile surgical operating rooms, medical laboratories, primary healthcare units, and trauma stabilization points. These units will offer essential healthcare services, maternal and child care, as well as emergency and first aid services.
This partnership between Taawon and Caritas Jordan stems from their shared belief in the importance of collaborative efforts to address the current humanitarian and health challenges in the Gaza Strip. Both organizations are committed to providing mobile, high-quality healthcare services to those affected, contributing to saving lives and improving living conditions for the population.
This collaboration is one of several steps undertaken by Taawon with various partners to realize this project on the ground.
The MoU aims to provide tangible support to achieve these objectives by equipping hospitals and health centers with mobile clinics, medical equipment, medicine, and essential supplies.
This collaboration comes at a critical time as the Gaza Strip faces enormous humanitarian and health challenges, hindering access to necessary medical services for many residents. The initiative will enhance the capacity of healthcare providers to continue operating through mobile clinics following the near-total destruction of health facilities.
