Under the Patronage of the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs
“Palestine, Our Shared Story” in Doha in Support of Gaza’s Orphans
Under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Taawon organized its annual charity evening, “Palestine, Our Shared Story”, in Doha. The event aimed to raise funds for the NOOR Initiative, implemented by Taawon in partnership with the Bank of Palestine Group, to respond to the growing humanitarian needs of Gaza’s orphans and help them regain a sense of safety, dignity, and hope for the future.
The evening brought together high-level Qatari and Palestinian officials, diplomats, and representatives of humanitarian organizations and the private sector, in a powerful expression of Arab solidarity with the Palestinian people.
Her Excellency Dr. Mariam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad, Minister of State for International Cooperation, affirmed that “humanity is not a privilege, but a moral duty and a collective responsibility.” She added that “standing with our Palestinian brothers and sisters is a principled stance inspired by our conscience before our politics.”
She noted that under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Qatar has united humanitarian and diplomatic efforts to protect human life and uphold dignity. Dr. Al Misnad emphasized that Qatar’s ongoing efforts to achieve a ceasefire and deliver aid to Gaza continue with determination, yet require unified global solidarity in the face of immense suffering and growing humanitarian needs.
Her Excellency announced the completion of the implementation mechanism for the Al-Nour Initiative, developed in cooperation with Taawon, as part of the broader NOOR program for orphans. She affirmed Qatar’s commitment to sponsoring 3,000 orphans and providing treatment for 1,500 wounded individuals from Gaza, concluding with the words: “Every child who lost their family has a family in Qatar, and everyone who lost their support has in Qatar a helping hand and care.”
Dr. Nabil Hani Qaddumi, Chairman of Taawon’s Board of Trustees, stated: “This evening embodies our profound humanitarian commitment to Gaza’s orphans and reaffirms that investing in childhood is investing in the future of Palestine. The NOOR Initiative represents a holistic approach to care and development, empowering children to rise from the rubble and reclaim their lives with dignity.”
He added that Taawon’s annual evening has become a leading Arab and humanitarian platform, translating partnership into tangible impact for those most in need. He expressed deep gratitude to the State of Qatar for its generous patronage and continuous support for Palestine, describing it as “a true Arab haven for solidarity and humanitarian cooperation.”
The evening featured visual and artistic presentations showcasing stories of resilience from Gaza, including a documentary highlighting the field impact of the NOOR Initiative, and a special music video, “Ya Daw”, performed by artist Rola Aazar, whose heartfelt performance reflected the light of hope born from humanitarian action amidst hardship.
At the close of the event, Taawon extended its heartfelt appreciation to the leadership, government, and people of Qatar for hosting this humanitarian gathering, and to all attendees, institutions, and individuals alike, for their solidarity and generous engagement in support of Gaza’s children.
