As part of its annual awards program for 2017, and as part of its strategy to support and recognition the education sector in Palestine, Taawon launched the Outstanding Palestinian Teachers Award in Palestine and in refugee camps in Lebanon. All teachers are called upon to apply for the award, which aims to honor outstanding initiatives in the adopting of new and effective methods and mechanisms in the teaching process.

The award is worth US$70,000 and will be distributed annually, beginning with this year, and will be shared by a maximum of five distinguished teachers. Part of the prize will be allocated to cover participation in international conferences, and part for training to develop their skills and educational methods. The Award is funded by generous support from Mr. Munir Al Kalouti and the Hani Qaddumi Scholarship Foundation.

Taawon considers the educational sector as one of its priorities to pay great attention to, to provide equal education opportunities for all Palestinians for developing their creative abilities and towards excellence through programs focused on critical thinking, problem solving, creativity, integration and utilizing technology. The education program at Taawon includes various components that invest in improving the quality of education at all levels, from kindergarten to university education. This is in addition to the annual award of US$50,000 to Palestinian schools that encourages innovation and self-development within the school.
