United against scholasticide
More than a year has passed since the devastating attack on Gaza, which significantly impacted the education sector. We stand together to confront the campaign of 'scholasticide' targeting Palestinian academic institutions, especially in Gaza. On the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, November 29, 2024, we renew our support for Gaza’s universities in their struggle for resilience and survival, and we reject all attempts aimed at erasing or weakening their existence.
Right to education marathon
Under this banner, we invite everyone to join a global call to support education in Gaza. Join us in the "Right to Education Marathon: United Against Scholasticide," under the patronage of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and organized by Taawon, Birzeit University, Birzeit University Friends Association, the Higher Council for Youth and Sports/Palestine Marathon, and Gaza universities, in partnership with all universities and colleges across the West Bank and Gaza.
All proceeds from the marathon will go toward supporting the "Isnad" Program, providing students the opportunity to continue their education and build a better future for themselves and Gaza.
Date: The date will be scheduled separately in each governorate.
Location: Marathons will be organized across various universities within Palestine in a decentralized manner, considering movement restrictions. Each university will host its own marathon in collaboration with local institutions.
Virtual International Marathon: For participants outside Palestine, you can join the virtual marathon and show solidarity with Gaza students from anywhere in the world.

Isnad program
The educational system in Gaza has suffered systematic destruction due to the ongoing attack, impacting the dreams and future of over 88,000 university students. Despite these challenges, Taawon launched the “Isnad” program to enhance higher education in Gaza, committed to supporting students in resuming their studies through distance learning. This program offers these students an opportunity to continue their education and build a better future for themselves and for Gaza.
