As part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen the Palestinian health sector, Taawon handed over two fully equipped ambulances to the Palestinian Ministry of Health on Wednesday, November 20, 2024. The handover took place at the ministry's headquarters in Ramallah in the presence of the Minister of Health, Dr. Majed Abu Ramadan, and the Director General of Taawon, Dr. Tareq Emtairah.
This initiative aims to bolster the capabilities of the government’s Emergency and Ambulance Unit by upgrading its fleet with state-of-the-art ambulances that meet international standards. The step is expected to improve the quality of medical services provided to patients and injured individuals, ensuring swift access to necessary healthcare in emergencies.
During the event, Dr. Majed Abu Ramadan stated, “Health support strengthens our ability to continue delivering healthcare services to our people. The Palestinian government and the Ministry of Health are exerting all efforts to provide and enhance healthcare services across all areas with the support and cooperation of local and international partners.”
Dr. Tareq Emtairah emphasized, “Supporting the Palestinian health sector is one of our top priorities. Providing modern ambulances to the Ministry of Health is part of our vision to strengthen the healthcare infrastructure and empower it to face current challenges. We will continue to work alongside our partners to ensure medical services reach all Palestinian areas, especially those with limited resources.”
The event also included discussions on the key challenges facing the Palestinian health sector under current circumstances and plans to expand support. Taawon reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Palestinian health institutions in the West Bank and Gaza Strip to ensure the continuity of essential medical services, particularly during difficult times.
